( Brief & approach )

Night Shift Radio has kept the same three presenters on air between midnight and six for ten years. For their anniversary they wanted a film about who is listening — the bakers, cab drivers, nurses and insomniacs who make up the audience.

We shot over four nights across two cities using only practical light: streetlamps, shop signs, headlights. The soundtrack is built entirely from ten years of the station’s own on-air archive, so the film plays like a long dial-turn across a decade.

The film premiered on the station’s anniversary broadcast and has since been selected for two short-film festivals.
